I had a Gossip Girl moment today

Well, kinda. In my desperation to make extra cash, I agreed to help a woman on the Upper East Side organize and scan a bajillion family photos. Today I met with her daughter who's home from college to show me the ropes. As I entered the fancy doorman building and got into the elevator, my heart started racing as I started recalling episodes from Gossip Girl—the attitude, the scandal—Holy shit, this chick's gonna tear me apart!

I was greeted by the housekeeper, and then the daughter came out to meet me in a skirt outfit and 4-inch heels. Right, I see how this is going to go, I thought to myself. Turns out, she was trying on outfits for sorority rush, and changed into leggings shortly after I arrived. Phew. To my relief, she was really cool. She was definitely mature beyond her years—at least waaay more mature than I was at that age, but after I got over the fact that I had resorted to scanning photos to help pay rent at 29 years-old, it was alright. I actually wish I had more to dish about! I suppose I should be careful what I wish for.

So yes, once again, I had to suck up my pride just like I told you about in this post. Has anyone else ever had to do odd jobs just to make ends meet?
