What did you have for breakfast this morning?

Luke and I went to the bank this am to exchange some leftover foreign currency from our trip. So what did we decide to do with the money? Go to breakfast! (I'm such a bad influence on Luke when it comes to spending money on little things like breakfast and taking cabs instead of the train).  We went to Native Bean in the East Village—it was my first time there. It had a cool, artsy vibe; I liked it.

I grabbed my small skim latte and found a table by the window. Then the server brought out our orders:

I got oatmeal with fresh blueberries, cranberries, bananas, strawberries and walnuts. I needed something healthy to get me back on track from vacation. (I have gained a noticeable amount of weight, but that discussion is for another time. I don't want to think about it right now.)

Luke got an egg and bacon sandwich on a roll. It looked good, but I didn't ask for a bite because I quickly started feeling full. With the way I've been eating the last two weeks, I feel like I could stop eating now and not actually be hungry again until Tuesday! Gross.

The post-vacation blues are starting to creep up on me. Again. All I want to do today is crawl into bed with a book or a movie, or both, and hide out. I'm not going to do that though. I'm going to finish unpacking, clean my apartment, workout and of course, scope the job sites. Oh, and speaking of movies, if you haven't seen Inglourious Basterds yet, you MUST see it. We saw it last night and it was sooo good. Brad Pitt was genuis. I could go on and on about why I liked it, but this isn't a movie review—just go see it.

Happy Friday everyone—Photo Shoot Friday is coming soon!

Tell me: What did you have for breakfast this am? Anyone worried about overindulging over the holiday weekend?

  1. My Multigrain Cheerios lasted only 2 hours or so before I was hungry again. Your oatmeal looked really yummy.
And yes, I am worried about over-indulging this weekend. Football season = beer+bbq+hotdogs+chipndips, etc etc etc. There will be lots of football watching tomorrow. My plan is to eat a good lunch before kick-off to avoid snacking at the various house parties and to just "think of the hangover" for the beer. Stopping while you are ahead is good for the liver and the fanny.

  2. Multigrain Cheerios, good choice...that's usually one of the cereals I keep in my rotation. Oh gosh, tailgating food is a killer. Eating a good meal before you go is a good idea though...you will be more satisfied doing that than picking at chips and dip and other snacks.
