I don't know if anyone has noticed, but I haven't talked about my Tasti-D-Lite obsession in quite a while. I can't afford the $4 treat as frequently anymore, and I finally realized that yes, it is possible to have too much of a good thing. But, I had some cash in my pocket from babysitting last night and ate pretty healthfully all day today, so I decided it was OK to indulge just a little.
I got a small Rice Pudding and Peanut Butter Fudge swirl with strawberries on top. Just as I placed my order, the girl behind me opened her wallet and exclaimed, "Shit, I only have one dollar!" As the look of panic swept over her face, she pulled it together enough to convince the girl behind the counter to give the yogurt to her for free. For FREE. "I come here all the time. You know I'm good for it. I will come back later and pay for it!" As the words came out of her mouth, I could feel my nose scrunch up as I gave her my "bitch, are you serious right now?" face. I just couldn't believe that 1.) Someone was that desperate to get their TD fix (and you know I'm not judgmental) 2.) Her plea actually worked!
Geeze, next time I find myself with an ice cream craving and an empty wallet, I know exactly what to do. Who else would have done the exact same thing? Have you already?
THAT IS INCREDIBLE!!
ReplyDeletemy friend jen and her sister are tasti obsessed. they get delivery so often the guys that work there know them. it's actually a little ridiculous. i was over there one night recently and they weren't delivering because they were short staffed. we were so sad until the guy CALLED JEN BACK and said his owner told him to close the store and bring us the tasti. obviously i was happy, but really?!?
Whoa, that's dedication right there!! I've actually never had it delivered, so maybe I'm not quite as obsessed as aI thought! That is the awesome thing about New York. You can even get a piece of toast delivered right to your doorstep!
