Z is for Zumba

So who's a fan of Zumba? I had been wanting to try a class for forever, so when I got hooked up with the New Balance Zumba sneaks, I was eager to test 'em out and see what the hype around this Latin-inspired aerobics dance workout was all about. Check out the vid below for my recap. (Sorry it's so small--technical difficulties!)

I really enjoyed it, but I had to do more stopping and starting than I wanted. (Umm yeah, not sure why I decided to bust out those dance moves--sorry you had to witness that!) I'm a pretty coordinated gal, so hopefully I'll be a pro in no time if I keep at it! I'd like to incorporate more Zumba classes into my workout routine to mix things up and have fun, but I don't think it could never replace my calorie-scorching runs or sports conditioning classes.

This is a pretty good looking shoe, huh? I've never had such a stylish and comfy sneaker before. I didn't take them off all day long!

After the class Kateri and I went to Grey Dog's on Carmine Street to catch up over coffee. I love that place!

I was tempted by the baked goods. (I mean, HELLO most delicious looking cookie I've ever seen!) But I got what I came for...

A skim latte.

Look how cute Kateri is post-workout!

And then I met my boyfriend at Cafe Charbon in the LES for brunch. I got an egg white ham and herb omelette--it was yummy. And THEN I got my taxes done, which was quite depressing. I really can't even talk or think about it right now! Ughhh.

Besides that though, I had an awesome day! Who else is enjoying great weather this weekend? And who's into Zumba? Am I weird for not LOVING it? I'm going to give it a few more chances though before I make my mind up about it.

  5. All I know of Zumba is what I see on late night infomercials when I wake up after having fallen asleep in front of the telvision .. again.

I think it would be fun. I am not co-ordinated enough for it, though. I'd take my own eye out.

(Skim latte is my signature drink too... everyone thinks it's not exciting enough. Glad to have found another Latte Lover.)

  6. I agree Sherris--I have yet to try Crossfit. I'm a bit scared by it, but I'm going to force myself to do it! ONE DAY.

Ahh, Flip, I thought perhaps you guys had forgotten about the worm...guess not! :/ It's coming...at some point.

Hi Erin! Thanks for stopping by :) What do fashion bloggers wear to the gym?? I can only imagine. And yes, I'll be on the lookout to see how you rock those white lace tights!

Molly, I can totally see you in a Zumba class. Did your class give you a really good workout? I'm still undecided on whether or not it was challenging enough, but I'm sure it varies from class to class.

Hi Cuppycakes! Maybe you should practice during those infomercials next time if you're thinking about trying a class. And yes, everyone knows I LOVE my skim lattes! Sometimes, if I'm feeling really adventurous, I get soy milk :)

  7. I tried Salsa Fit, which I'm pretty sure is almost the same thing. I enjoyed it but it wouldn't motivate me out of bed like a good game of squash will. Also, LOVE the NBs :)
