What's your favorite 80s movie?

As I'm sure most of you have heard by now, 80s teen idol, Corey Haim, died today from an apparent drug overdose. So sad. I know this makes me a total dork, but I haven't even seen The Lost Boys. I need to.

80s movies are just the best, aren't they? I loved The Breakfast Club, Adventures in Babysitting and Karate Kid, but my all-time favorite was Girls Just Want To Have Fun. Liza and I would watch it over and OVER again when we were little. (And um, even when we were not so little.) Naturally, she wanted to be Sarah Jessica Parker and I wanted to be Helen Hunt. I worshiped her in that movie--grasshopper hat and all. (Does anyone remember that?)

Oh my god, after seeing that clip, I want to watch it RIGHT NOW. Wait a minute, I CAN. Hey, FUNemployment has to have a few perks!

Tell me: What's your favorite 80s movie? What character did you relate to most back then?

  2. I actually own Girls Just Want to Have Fun on DVD! Best. Movie. Ever.

You could easily play a drinking game and drink every time Helen Hunt changes her outfit. You'd easily be tipsy by the dance audition!

My fav 80s movie: Adventures in Babysitting, Troop Beverly Hills or Say Anything!

  3. I love John Hughes movies; The Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles, Ferris Bueller day's off are my favorites!
The tribute they made for him at the Oscar was really emotional.

I don't know Girls Just Want to Have Fun but now I want to see it!

  4. I LOVE 80s Movies. There are so many that I love, I just can't choose! They have character that modern movies just can't seem to match. Nothing is better than a day off in jammies and Sixteen Candles or Pretty in Pink.

Yes, forgot to mention Shannen Doherty! I liked her in the movie, too. The dude who played her older brother was hottt. What in the world happened to him?

And I CANNOT believe I forgot to mention Troop Beverly HIlls!!! That is an easy second. LOVE IT.

  10. My parents really restricted my movie watching back then, so my all time favorite movie of the 80's was ET!
