Lunching on Wall Street

Sounds fancy, doesn't it? When my boyfriend emailed me this am asking if I wanted to meet him for lunch, I couldn't type YES fast enough. It really doesn't take much to add a little zip to my day!

The New York Stock Exchange! I'm rarely in the Financial District, so I took the opportunity to take pics and act like a tourist. It was fun.

We kept it low-key and grabbed a quick bite at Hale and Hearty Soup. I got a small cup of chicken chili and half of a buffalo chicken wrap—it was so good! (P.S. Like my Mary Kate Olsen hobo sweater? It's been my uniform for the last three days—it's so cozy!)

So I've seen this bull statue before, but I never knew the story behind it. My bf gave me a quick tutorial and I'm giving you an even shorter one: If someone uses the word "bull" it means they think the stock market is going up. "Bear," it's going down. Er, or something like that!

This little lunch getaway certainly beats the days I used to scarf down a Lean Cuisine at my desk and scan Perez Hilton as quickly as possible! How do you usually spend your lunch hour? And what I'd really like to know is—who works out during lunch? I've never understood how anyone manages that!

  1. Ellen, I am glad that I am not the only one who doesn't understand working out during lunch. I'd love to be able to do it but it just doesn't seem possible!

  2. Ha...I love that you have been sporting the same sweater for 3 days. Truth...me too! I have this huge oversized red sweater that my hubs HATES and I love it!!! :) Three days later I am still sporting it! :)

  3. Yup, I don't get the whole working out at lunch thing either. I tried it a couple times, and trying to get a shower and change back into work clothes all inside an hour is pretty unmanageable. Even when the gym is on-site. And not showering is just not an option (although I'm sure plenty of people skip the shower).

  4. I KNOW! I just wouldn't be able to enjoy the gym if I had to worry about making it back to work at a certain time. PLUS, I would be a sweaty monster!

And actually, MYP, the bf likes the hobo sweater. However, I have a feeling if I don't part with it for a few days he may begin to hate it!

  6. I write for a celebrity gossip blog, so at lunch I ... read other celebrity gossip blogs. I'm sick, I know.

  7. I usually spend my lunch break in my van, parked up overlooking Bournemouth Bay, with a prawn cocktail baguette and a cup of tea. Good food for the soul if not for he tummy!

  8. If I don't work through lunch, I read FNF at lunch! And try to read Facebook enough to keep up with all of the people that I can't get to see. I try to get out once a week, but I really don't have any friends here so it isn't the exciting trip that it could be.

    Workout during lunch?-Negative.
