Photo Shoot Friday: Food Porn and a Rooftop View

OK, so the writing on this post is going to be minimal. I've been a little bonkers with this freelance PR gig I recently took on, and I just don't have the time or brainpower to come up with clever commentary at the moment. Not that the pics really need any. (Please ignore any typos. My bf already pointed out like three from the last post!) And oh, apparently food blog pics are called FOOD PORN. Works for me!

An editor friend invited me over to her Upper West Side apartment the other week, and I was blown AWAY by it. This is pretty much what I aspire to have...one day.

We all know what a fabulous photographer I am! I managed to only get half of the two-wall bookshelf.

People say that the "magic" happens in the bedroom, but I say it's the kitchen! Plus, you can make magic IN the kitchen. Ya dig?

We went outside to eat on the patio, but I'm an idiot and accidentally deleted the beautiful pic I had taken of it. Damn.

I loaded my plate with the healthy stuff first....

...and then I got to the good stuff! I rarely eat pasta anymore (not sure why?) It was de-LISH.

Fried cheese anyone? Yes, PLEASE!

My plate looked like this. Plus seconds of pasta and cheese.

We finished off the night with key lime pie, (more) vino and coffee. Yummm.

Oh, and this view. Isn't it ridiculous?

Until this night, I always said that I'd take an awesome wardrobe over an awesome apartment any day, but now I'm rethinking that. What would you choose: Apartment or wardrobe? And what's everyone having for dinner tonight? All this damn FOOD PORN is making me hungry!

  1. I'd rather have a great home over a great wardrobe (I can't BELIEVE I'm saying that). If I have a great home, I don't need great clothes because I can shack up home with my jammies. Mmmm sounds divine!

  2. *just creamed my foodie pants*
as for wardrobe vs. apartment--its a tough call..but i'm going to call for apartment. i LOVE my apartment--and nothing beats that. besides, you can build a wardrobe over time on almost any budget

  3. That looks amazing! My husband would kill for those bookshelves. I'm surprised that I am saying this, but I would probably choose the wardrobe, but it's a tough call. I would love to have a gorgeous house/apartment (I like my place overall, but it's not my dream place!). Having an perfect wardrobe would be so awesome, life changing really! O.k., maybe that's going a little too far...

  4. Good points, Kim and Nadette. It's still kind of a toss up for me—I don't know! And fab wadrobe WOULD be life changing, JKW! Getting dressed is so damn stressful sometimes! Ohh, I can't decide...

  6. It's nice, but the neighborhood is rough. Yeah, that Upper West Side life has its issues. As P.D.Q. Back wrote in his "Classical Rap":

    You gotta buy your apartment,
    but the mortgage will be
    a mere pittance
    compared to the maintenance fee.
To get a light bulb changed in the hall
    takes 27 men, it's a union call.

    The doorman, the mailman,
    the sanitation crew,
the parking attendant & the cleaning lady too,
the super and his helpers, they all get tips,
and then we gotta talk about the memberships.

    Your daughter takes flute and dancing too, your son takes piano, guitar, and kung fu;
The baby's allergic to cotton, not silk,
The cat can only drink gerbil milk.

In New York City, they always say,
You can get anything, any time of day.
But you're looking at a man
who can't get what he wants,
Zabar's is out of chocolate croissants.

I've got no shame, but I've got my pride,
I'm just tryin' to get along on the
    Upper Upper Upper West Side...

Ah, that was long, but I think it was worth it. :-)
