If you had to choose: Would you rather work OR be in school for the rest of your life?

Ok, so that's a bit extreme. Hopefully one day we will all retire to some place sunny...or at least to the couch with a pint of Ben and Jerry's. But what I'm asking is, are you more of a school or work oriented person? I don't think I have to tell you my answer to this question: work work work! Which is interesting since I'm having a hard time GETTING any! Call me crazy, but I was actually a bit envious when my friend Robin told me she was at the office until midnight the other day. I just love the feeling of really busting my ass and doing a good job at something I enjoy. I hope to have a long, prosperous career doing...I'm really not sure what, and that this whole unemployment thing is just a small hiccup to a road of success!

School, on the other hand...ick. I'm just going to go ahead and admit right now that I got D in my junior year high school English class! And my GPA in college was all over the place. One semester it would be a 3.4, and the next I'd be struggling to stay above a 2.0. If I really liked and respected a teacher, I'd usually work hard and get an A or B. Usually. If the teacher just stood in front of the room reading from a book word for word (as many of my socially awkward English teachers did), I'd zone out and just not give a shit. Looking back, I wish I had taken a little more pride in my grades, but at least I'm not one of those people who killed themselves trying maintain a perfect GPA, (and missed out on all the fun!) and then did absolutely nothing with their degree! I mean, I'm an English major who has worked for national magazine publications. I'm not doing half bad.

So tell me: If you had to choose, would you rather work or be in school for the rest of your life?
